Arts Unleashed believes that children's imagination is limitless. Arts Unleashed empowers young people by offering a unique blend of drama, art and small-group experiences. There are many programs available, ranging from a one-person show to full-blown theatrical productions.

Arts Unleashed helps young people express themselves through the visual arts. The program encourages students' creativity, artistic ability, self-esteem, and expressiveness. Chesterfield Arts was originally founded in 1995 as an organization to support local arts. The organization became Arts Unleashed over the years and added art education to its mission.

Drama

Arts Unleashed is a drama company that believes in the limitless imagination of children and young people. It combines art and drama with a focus on small groups and BIG experiences to encourage young people to use their imaginations and be creative. The goal is to give every student the chance to create something and have fun doing so.

Danielle Dawson was Arts Unleashed's Class Assistant in the 2022 season. She attended Arts Unleashed while she was a camper. Since then, she has been a volunteer and a student of the Drama class. She loves reading, drawing, and listening to music. Outside of theatre, she enjoys traveling, eating good food, and spending time together with family and close friends.


Small groups

Arts Unleashed can be used to inspire young people and children with the arts. This method combines drama and art, and focuses both on small groups and big experiences. This method allows young people to be creative in their own way. They will be able to create and share a variety of pieces.

Lauren was one of the very first campers to Arts Unleashed. Later she was a volunteer and a class assistant. She is a student at High School and loves to read, draw and listen to music. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling. She hopes to pursue a career as a teacher after she graduates.

Michelle has a background working in Early Childhood Education. She is also an active volunteer for the Durham District school board. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, dancing, and reading. Her daughter Maya is a violinist and singer and has performed in many musicals. She is a regular theatre-goer.
